FeaturedCommentsHey I love this. Great works of art. How long you been doing this, and how much does it take to bronze stuff?
Thanks so much! I started sculpting a bit under 3 years ago when I went to art college. Working in bronze is incredibly time consuming and involves making more than one mould of the sculpture and lots of welding and grinding of the bronze
I see. That is about the same time I started working as well, three years ago. I went to Freda Diesing School. I like to get into bronzing myself, but it's going to take some time to build up to that. Great work. I can't wait to see your next big piece.
Your work is really amazing, there's a lot of detail and life in them and grumpy portrait is simply hilarious
I'm trying to get into sculpting. Is there any advice you can give me on materials and where to start?
Sure. A great book that is a classic and really cheap is 'Modelling and sculpting the human figure' by Edouard Lantiri. Get a big block of Wed clay which is pretty cheap compared to oil based clays. It's beautiful to work with and drys very slowly. Buy a few simple tools and start looking at other artists work for inspiration. Good luck
